Beth's Story


I'm one of those people who grew up eating anything I wanted and stayed skinny - even through college. I started gaining weight several years ago after being sidelined with a stress fracture from marathon training. My weight crept up to over 150 lbs last year despite the fact that I was working out 4-5 times a week. By November, I knew two things:

1. my weight gain was attributed mostly to diet.
2. I needed help.

Angela and I began working together weekly in November, 2002 with a goal to lose about 20 lbs. These are my achievements so far:

1. I've lost 14 lbs. with 6 more to go by May 1, 2003.
2. I dropped from a 10-12 size to a 6-8 size.
3. I've lost LOTS of inches.
4. I've developed better eating habits.
5. More confidence and a better understanding of weight training. (man, it can be intimidating!)

Angela has been so instrumental in helping me to focus on the problem and implement steps to create a solution. I have a very busy lifestyle and needed help focusing and on this particular problem. I had never faced this challenge before.

A big part of achieving goals is having the confidence to know you can do it. Angela certainly had more confidence in me that I did when we started this. I really didn't think I could do it. I'm not all the way there yet, but I know I can. Angela has proven to be such a great support system for diet and exercise, a motivator and a cheerleader. Losing weight and becoming fit is not easy. It's nice to have someone like Angela in your corner.

The only way I can sum it up is to say that, aside from my corrective laser eye surgery, it's the best money I've ever spent! Thanks, Angela!
