August 2004. "0" trans fats claimed even though partially hydrogenated oils are listed as an ingrendient! But, how can it be? Any educated consumer KNOWS that if it says “partially hydrogenated oil” in the ingredient list, then there ARE trans fats in it! A client told me about the new pre-packaged “100 Calories” snack foods today – including cereal bars, cookies, crackers and other goodies and when looking at the food labels we discovered that one product had “high fructose corn syrup” as the main ingredient and was purely sugar, and the other, although claiming “0 TRANS FAT” had “partially hydrogenated oil” listed on the ingredient list. I was baffled as to how they could claim this and looked it up when I got back to the office.

Be careful! You ARE what you eat! Or put another way, you ARE what the INGREDIENT list is! Check it out. Don’t be
fooled by misleading marketing. Remember, too, that if it wasn’t grown in or on the earth, it’s processed and the more
processed it is, the more likely it is to raise blood sugar and insulin levels and to be stored as fat. Indulge, but
don’t go overboard. I would think twice about planning to eat something like this on a regular basis.
